CHaOS Demonstrator Section

Welcome to the demonstrator section of the CHaOS website. This page has a list of recent events that we've been looking for volunteers for. For events in the past, there's often a good chance that we'll be running a similar thing the following year.
  • CHaOS AGM 2015: Saturday 17th October

CHaOS is a student society running fun, hands-on science events for thousands of members of the public and school children every year. It's a great chance to talk about science with members of the public of all ages (mainly children and families), both in Cambridge and outside. Almost all of our events are out of term time, so fit in well with exhausting Cambridge timetables! We welcome scientists of all persuasions, including medics, mathematicians, engineers, vets, compscis,...). If you'd like to be involved in making this happen read more below!

CHaOS is a student society that runs fun science events outside term time, both in Cambridge and further afield. We're running a five week long science roadshow with our favourite experiments, visiting schools and town halls around the country during July and August. We need keen volunteers to demonstrate these experiments to children and families. If you like explaining science to the public, and enjoy camping and BBQs, the CHaOS Roadshow could be for you! CHaOS will cover your travel and living expenses, so volunteering will only cost your time!

    When?
The Summer Roadshow is running for a total 6 weeks this year, from Mon 29th June - Saturday 1st August, and also from Saturday 15th August - Saturday 22nd August. This start date is the week after graduation, so is just over one week after most undergrads have gone home.

  • CHaOS Winter Roadshow 2013

CHaOS is running its Winter Roadshow (affectionately known as Mini-tour) this year from Thursday 5th December to Tuesday 10th December. During mini-tour, we will visit 6 Cambridgeshire schools and public events with our range of interactive experiments to get children and families interested in science. Mini-tour is a series of day trips - no camping involved - and you can apply for as many days as you like, whether that is just one, or all six days! It is a great way to get involved in CHaOS, meet new people, and have a bit more fun at the end of term.
